WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL CAMP, JULY 7-10
Alabama’s annual Wheelchair Basketball Camp will be held on July 7-10, 2016. Campers planning to attend this camp should be aged 12-19, independent, have a strong interest in competitive wheelchair basketball and be ready to participate in strenuous practice sessions for up to 6 hours per day. Staff for this camp will include the Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Coach Ford Burttram, and Assistant Wheelchair Basketball Coach, Adam Kramer. The camp will also have staff members from the current wheelchair sports teams at Alabama and guest instructors from National Teams.
Travel plans should allow campers to be on campus on Thursday morning, July 7. The first teaching session for camp will start on Thursday afternoon. Flights into Birmingham Airport should arrive no later than 11:00 AM. We will provide a shuttle for airport transportation, on both the 7th and 10th. Plan to depart no earlier than 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 10.
Cost for The University of Alabama Wheelchair Basketball Camp is $350 for all campers. These Fees include room, board, instructional costs, camp practice jerseys, airport shuttle and administrative costs. Make checks payable to University of Alabama Adapted Athletics. A significant discount is available for groups of three or more campers.
Housing for both camps will be in separate, based on gender, sections of the Riverside Dormitory Complex on the University of Alabama Campus. Bedrooms, restrooms, and shower facilities are all accessible.
Packing lists will be sent about two weeks before camp starts with detailed instructions about what to bring and where to report.
