Alabama Men Split in Wichita Bash

The Alabama men opened up the weekend in Wichita with a matchup against a tough, well-coached Missouri team. The game started out very back and forth. Missouri ended the first half very strong and continued their hot shooting into the second half to pull up by as many as 20. However, Alabama kept on fighting and showed a great end game to make it close. Missouri’s hot start proved to be too much to overcome as they edged Bama 44-53.

The afternoon game on Friday was a rematch of last year’s national championship game, Alabama against Whitewater. This game was a fight from the opening tip. The game was close throughout. Whitewater proved to be a great test and ended up pulling away in the last few minutes of the game to win 51-65. Alabama was hungry for a win after two tough, highly competitive games on Friday. They opened up with an early morning game against Nebraska Omaha. The game was very close for the first half, as both offenses were playing well. In the second half, Alabama turned up the press and began to pull away and came away with a big win. The final score was 69-49. The last game of the tournament was against Southwest Minnesota State. Alabama got off to a nice start, but Southwest wouldn’t go away and showed great fight. At the end of the second half, Alabama finally started getting big stops on defense and started to pull away. They ended the weekend with another great win, 69-57. The men ended the weekend 2-2. The boys learned some great things and continue to improve. Alabama is looking forward to getting back to work and continuing their push towards nationals. The Alabama Men are now 6-5 Overall and 2-4 in Conference. Our next games will be in Auburn in two weeks. Roll Tide!
