BAMA COMPETES AT NATIONALS

TeamArlington, TX – Congratulations to our Wheelchair Tennis Team that completed in National Championships this weekend! Karolina Lingyte and Mackenzie Soldan advanced to the finals of the Doubles bracket and lost an epic 3 set battle for the Championship. Lingyte and Soldan also both advanced to the Final Four of the Tier 1 Singles Bracket. Shelby Barron took home 4th place in Tier 1 Singles and Maude Jaques won 5th place in Tier 2 Singles. Thank you to University of Texas Arlington for hosting Nationals. Roll Tide! Roll Tide!

TIDE ROLLS AT HILTON HEAD

Tennis TeamHilton Head, SC - Congratulations to the University of Alabama Wheelchair Tennis team on their success at the PTR Championships in Hilton Head, SC! Mackenzie Soldan split her singles matches with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Elizabeth Williams of USA, and a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Francesca Mardones of Chile. Maude Jaques lost her first match in Women’s A 6-1, 6-0 to Valaria Reyes, Chian 6-1, 6-0, but bounced back with a win in her second match with a marathon win over Desiree Vines 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (5). Karolina Lingyte also split her singles matches with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Macarena Cabrillana 6-1, 6-3 but won today against Elizabeth Williams 6-3, 6-2. Shelby Barron lost two tough matches against Park Ju Youn of Korea 6-1, 6-0, and Natalia Mayara of Chile 6-1, 6-0.

TIDE ROLLS AT TENNIS NATIONALS 2013

Mack Wheelchair TennisTuscaloosa, AL – Congratulations to the University of Alabama for winning their first Team Championships in Wheelchair Tennis today by 4 points over University of Texas-Arlington! Cindy Oulette started the morning off strong for Alabama winning the Tier Two Singles Championship 6-3, 6-4 over Andy Kraft from UTA. Karolina Lingyte advanced to the finals of Tier One and finished second in top Bracket with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 loss to Matthew DeVlieger of Calvin College. Mackenzie Soldan and Karolina Lingyte won the Doubles Championship with another 3 set victory over Scott Cole of Grand Valley State and Devlieger 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.  Roll Tide!
