Arlington, TX - Congratulations to our Wheelchair Tennis Team that completed in National Championships this weekend! Karolina Lingyte and Mackenzie Soldan advanced to the finals of the Doubles bracket and lost an epic 3 set battle for the Championship. Lingyte and Soldan also both advanced to the Final Four of the Tier 1 Singles Bracket. Shelby Barron took home 4th place in Tier 1 Singles and Maude Jaques won 5th place in Tier 2 Singles. Tuscaloosa, AL – The University of Alabama Adapted Athletics program celebrated another successful year this Friday at the Tuscaloosa Sailing Club with Water Skiing, Swimming, Tubing, and Wave Runners. 2013-14 Program Awards were given also given for the Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Tennis programs. In Women’s Wheelchair Basketball the award winners were: (Jessica Staley Impact Award / Cobi Crispin) (Margaret Stran Hustle and Attitude Award / Maude Jaques & Savannah Gardner) (Practice Award / Elissa Robinson) (Christina Davidson Academic Award / Karolina Lingyte) (Outstanding Defensive Player / Cindy Ouellet) (Stephanie Wheeler Performance Award / Cobi Crispin) (Outstanding Offensive Player / Karolina Lingyte) (Mary Allison Milford Leadership Award / Caitlin McDermott & Mackenzie Soldan) (Most Improved - Laurie Williams & Erica Gavel). In Men’s Wheelchair Basketball the award winners were: (Iron Man Award – Justin Obermyer) Ford Burttram Captains Award - Bo Hedges & Ryan Hynes), (Academic Award - Justin Obermyer & Bo Hedges), (Jared Arambula Performance Award - Bo Hedges). The Wheelchair Tennis Performance Award was given to Mackenzie Soldan & Karolina Lingyte. The Mark Booth Philanthropy Award is a Program Award and was presented to Caitlin McDermott & Kyle Killworth.
