Whitewater, WI – The University of Alabama Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams played a total of 8 games in 24 hours in Whitewater and came away with 6 wins! The Alabama Men opened the tournament with a 57-54 win over the University of Illinois. Later in the day the Crimson Tide men dropped tough contests to the University of Missouri 56-32 and Whitewater 49-62. Alabama rallied for two straight wins the next morning against Edinboro 56-30 and Southwest Minn State 48-30. The Alabama Women won all three games at the Whitewater tournament this weekend! In the first game of the tournament the Tide jumped out to an early 26 point lead and cruised to a 63-50 win over a talented young UTA team. Later in the day a hot shooting Alabama team led by 41-28 at the half and beat the University of Illinois 78-55. In their final game of the tournament the Alabama women beat the host Whitewater Warhawks 70-28. The Alabama Women are now 9-1 overall and 5-0 in conference an the Alabama Men are now 7-5 on the season and 3-4 in conference and the Alabama Women are 6-1 and 2-0 in conference.
